Science Site for children

Center for Art and Science launches online science site with filmed lectures, research portraits and short documentaries.
Center for Arts and Science at SDU is now launching the country's first online science site for children, where researchers give children insight into the wonderful world of science. At Southern University Online Children, teachers and students in 4th-6th class look filmed lectures, research portraits and short documentaries with accompanying teaching materials in such diverse fields as nanotechnology, Cold War history and ethics. The site marks the end of the project Southern Children's University, where researchers from SDU with support from the European Social Fund have visited schools in Denmark with specially adapted children's lectures. About the idea to create all the material and experience for free online says team member and artist Mikkel Larris from the Center for Art and Science: - It has always been our ambition to ensure children University as long a life as possible. Including the project's extensive material and the many experiences give most possible people for good. That I feel is successful in this website, which gives children and teachers across the country the opportunity to get research into the classroom as a complement to the other classes. The new portal has been well received. Diana Christensen is a teacher at Marslev School, and she is impressed with the new science site: - The people behind the site have been effective in providing "research-substance" to "child language". The written information to teachers is short and precise, and if you choose to use film and paper in his teaching, it is just to go to. Lovely! Source: SDU
