Sønderborg State School and HF-Course
As the Sønderborg city grew a lot in the early 1900s, partly due to many moving from the countryside to the city, was Sønderborg State School in 1911, built as the need for such occurred. It was located along with the other official buildings in the city, and therefore got a very nice and central location.
Since then, the school had to expand again and again. Both in 1938, 1967 and 1969, when Alssund Gymnasium became. But even in spite of the new high school, which trains many students in, had Sønderborg State School still expanding and this trend continues seemingly little longer.
There has gradually been some traditions that are upheld at the school. Among other things, the popular Romatch against Alssund Gymnasium, and the Yule Ball, where old students meet at school.
Besides the high school, the school has an HF education.
Both HF and College holds an annual study tour. Therefore, it is good to have made a small savings already from 1g, so everyone can come along for the ride. In previous years, students have been in the Czech Republic, Spain, Turkey, Italy, England, Greece and Lanzarote (La Santa Sport).
Furthermore, there is a partnership with a school in Iceland in connection with the Nordic-Baltic cooperation.
