The building where we have the pleasure of welcoming you to the restaurant OX-EN, dating back to 1761, when it was built by a Mr. Peter Reepschlager, almost as we know the property today. From 1769 to 1840 the property was bought and sold a couple of times, but what the concrete was used for non-residential purposes, history does nothing about. On 3 December 1840 the property was sold to a merchant, Sir. Asmus Brown, who opened a small grocery store in a part of the ground floor.

Until April 17, 1846 owned and managed his "merchant yard" where it was bought by Sir. Jørgen Clausen and his wife Anne Marie Fangel. They led for many years the merchant's house on. But when Mr. Jørgen Clausen July 12, 1863 died in a terrible drowning accident, but his wife alone to carry on the business.

Because of the war between Germany and Denmark in 1864, this was not easy, and the property was therefore also damaged during the bombing.

Brogade 2 was one of the properties was quickly rebuilt, and in 1868 the property was again sold, this time to a master carpenter Mr. Arne Petersen. The property was subsequently once sold, namely 17 August 1888, as a pastor, Mr. Sophus Holger Clausen bought it. The ground floor of the property has over time housed many different businesses.

Around 1960 offers among others a tobacconist, Sir. Peter Johansen his shop in the property and it existed until 1985. This happened when the restaurant Tortilla Flats expanded and took over the entire ground floor in 1991.
