Its mission is to generate new knowledge and new methods for improvement of health care through research, evaluations, studies and student projects. In this regard, the center will explore how to know to make some adjustments in structures or processes in everyday clinical practice at once can increase patient safety, improve quality and create an economic saving. These three conditions are often linked. Poor quality can lead to reduced quality of life for patients and increased health care costs for treatment and care. So this means that research is not, as in many other cases in the health field is oriented towards developing new medicines and treatment options. However, examples of research to reduce hospital infections, prevention of medication errors, reducing waste in hospitals and better coordination process after discharge of the patient. The center is an interdisciplinary cooperation based on the communities around economics, management, health technology and medicine at the university. And in addition, Health Services Research from North Jutland now also involved, since the center in terms of subject and method is an extension of health research. - We are really looking forward to really get started with the project. And I am sure that the interdisciplinary aspect about our work is going to be a great advantage, because we gather all the knowledge that is relevant in the field under the same roof. It is clearly helps to validate our research, says Professor Lars Holger Ehlers from the Department of Business and Management, AAU final. Source: AAU
