New research by the University of Copenhagen
The reason that it is precisely now moved to the University of Copenhagen, due to the political agreement on defense 2010-2014, showing that there was a wish to test whether the study should be at a university. The new study is placed at the Department of Political Science under the Faculty of Social Sciences, and aims to carry out an independent strategic research focusing on current military and defense and security policy issues, and will be covered by the University's research, methodology and publication freedom. The study will serve the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces with analyzes, training and seminars as well as perform various analytical tasks. Ministry of Defence and the University of Copenhagen estimates that CMS will provide opportunities for further strengthening of the Danish Security and Defence Policy. CMS will also help to promote the dissemination of studies and research in the field, to the Danish and international public opinion.
