Helsinki's dream

This year's summer exhibition Touching Dreams - Helsinki School of The National Museum, the Royal Library seduces the senses with photo and video works created by the latest generation of Helsinki's young artists.
Susanna Majuri working under sea level, where the light is broken, colors are reflected and dream images are created. Anni Leppälä shows us a mysterious and disturbing world where the line between reality and fantasy, past and present blurred. In Hannu Karjalainens photo and video works dissolved motives, since they are covered with paint in a strong visual gesture. Photographer program at Aalto University School of Art and Design in Helsinki has for years distinguished itself with innovative photographic art. However, there is no question of an artistic school in the traditional sense, which is rather a common approach which is characterized by complete professionalism from idea to finished work of art and a keen aesthetic sense. Common to the artists is that they all use photography as an intellectual tool to create original works. The exhibition is produced by the National Museum of Photography in close collaboration with Timothy Persons and the participating artists. The exhibition is produced m. Support from the Finnish Institute. The exhibition is open at the Black Diamond from May 13, 2011 - 27 August 2011. Admission: 40 kr. / Stud. 25 kr.
