Progress towards secondary schools in all regions

More students are expected to achieve at least a secondary education. This proportion has increased in all five regions since 2008.
Nearly 90 percent of the students who left the 9th grade in 2010, is expected to achieve at least a secondary education. That's an increase of almost three percentage points since 2009. The regional figures show that the national rate due to an increase in all regions. Regions Gauteng and North Jutland is above the national average with almost 91 percent of the students who are expected to achieve at least a secondary education. Region of Southern Denmark is close to the national average by almost 90 percent, while the regions Zealand and Copenhagen are below with respectively 89 percent and 88 percent. Close to the objective

The government has a target that 60 percent of all young people complete higher education. For 2010, the expected share nationwide of just under 54 percent. Closest to the target's Capital Region by just 55 percent, which is expected to achieve a higher education, while 50 percent of young people in Region Zealand is expected to complete a higher education. Capital Region is both the region where the least likely to obtain a secondary education, and the most likely to obtain a higher education. 51 percent of young people with another ethnic origin is expected to achieve a higher education. At the regional level, it is expected that young people with different ethnic origins of Regions South Denmark and Zealand is about the level of Danish youth. The difference is greatest in Region Zealand, where almost four percentage points more young people of other ethnic origins is expected to achieve a higher education, compared with Danish youth. The goal that 25 percent must obtain a higher education, in 2010, met for the youth in the Capital Region by 28 percent. The national average is just under 24 percent.
