Aarhus University refers exchange students for illegal housing

Aarhus University is committed to providing a home for the exchange students who come to Aarhus to study. But it turns out that it is not always follow the letter of the law.
It is currently not easy to find homes for the exchange students who have chosen to travel to Aarhus to take part of their education. Aarhus University is committed to providing them shelter and in that connection used private landlords to fulfill that purpose. Jyllands-Posten Aarhus has, however, found out that that in several of these private landlords live the student under conditions that are not approved for residential - in other words, illegal. "Sometimes we have to swerve us. It's not very fun, but if the alternative is that I have to say: You must stay at a campsite, then it's too bad " says Karen Jensen, area director of the university's international Secretariat and is responsible for the housing authority to JP Århus. She adds that she has been in all the rooms to check if they seem to be in order. Source: JP-Århus
