Four Men & a Dog made a name for themselves with their happy blend of traditional Irish music mixed with rap, southern rock, bluegrass, polka, jazz, country swing and salsa. The band debuted in County Derry in 1990 "Murphy 's Bar " before they took over the show in Belfast Folk Festival, with a splendid performance that combined love traditional dance tunes with contemporary music and cover versions, which are difficult to imitate. 4 Men & A Dogs debut album, "Barking Mad ", was named "Album of the Year " in Folk Roots Magazine back in 1991. It was actually the first Irish album ever won "Album of the Year "in Folk Roots Magazine. 4 Men & A Dogs live shows are extremely spontaneous as the band members never practicing on their shows!
