Rethinking the online banking triggers trip to the US

Students from higher education have found innovative solutions on how to make it fun to save money. Education Minister Bertel Haarder presented Nov. 20 prizes for the three best ideas.

"Make it fun to save money" was the challenge of the US Stanford University, who is behind the worldwide video competition Global Innovation Tournament (see pictures Bigger of winners below). To make it fun to save money online banking must be rethought. Among other things, the bank must send the user text messages to remind the dreams and goals that are put about, a new residence or otherwise. The idea is so good that the team behind it has won the Danish section of the competition. It was released on 20 November when Education Minister Bertel Haarder presented the prizes to the top three Danish videos. All three go further in international competition. The ceremony took place at the conference "Strategy & Leadership" in FUHU conference center in Copenhagen. The winning team consists of Bjarke Christensen and Christian Claudi from Copenhagen University, Anna Stube Holst, Copenhagen Business School, and Martin Lyng-Petersen, IT University of Copenhagen. First prize triggered a stay at Stanford University in E-ship Week in February 2010. Here the focus is on entrepreneurship, with workshops and lectures by enterprising people from some of the world's largest companies. The other two teams won a camcorder - a small hand-held camera. Students from higher education had nine days to produce a video that will present their ideas and solutions. In Denmark participated in a total of 163 students with 51 short films. All the videos have been viewed by a panel of business adviser Soulaima Gourani, CEO Morten HĂžjbjerg and entrepreneur Christina H. The three judges subsequently found the top three videos. The other two videos describing how to get more people to take public transport and how to teach people to save through an online save games. The reasons for the selection of the winner says judges, among other things, that the video in a fun and worth seeing way conveys an incredibly good idea for how to develop internet banking concept and make it a more solid and entertaining experience to check his account. The winner of the global competition can be found on 3 December. The prize is not yet published. Ministry of Education has developed the concept for the Danish part of the competition in cooperation with IDEA House, the Independence Foundation, Aalborg University and Research and Innovation. It is the first "Global Innovation Tournament" implemented in Denmark. Source: Ministry of Education
