Geography & Geoinformatics

Geography is not just to find capitals and countries on a map or know where the highest peak is located.

Geography and Geomatics is an education with an emphasis on human interaction with nature. Do you want to make your mark on the future way to solve environmental problems? Would you like to work actively to develop sustainable solutions to 3.verdens poverty problems? Geography dealing among other things with those problems and learn a critical approach to the management and protection of the environment and scarce resources of nature. To be able to meet and solve future environmental problems will get intensive training in strategic planning, the link between growth and welfare, globalization of 3.verdens countries without compromising on respect for the environment and more. The teaching is a mix of lectures, exercises, seminars, field trips, field work, laboratory experiments and data collection. Geography is a practical oriented training in which you are not sitting with your nose buried in books in three years, but will have the opportunity to test your knowledge.

During the training you receive knowledge about the methods and theories you need to analyze the aspects you are exposed to in the geographical academic field.

You will possess knowledge of both natural and cultural geography and you will be able to specialize in environment and society, so the interaction between people and nature is your core competency.

After graduation you can independently communicate problems in this area and come up with solutions to these problems both with colleagues, users and ordinary people.


Job Opportunities

You can seek employment in both the public-and private sector after the Bachelor's degree, but most choose to supplement with a master's degree.
