Again this year there is a large increase in the number of applications to higher education. Especially welfare programs are popular, and more and more sees opportunities in higher education. It shows the determination of net quota 2 applications.
More will have a higher education. In particular, training for teachers, educators and nurses popular, but also courses in computing, communications and economy gets much attention. Thus continues the development in recent years. It shows the determination of quota 2 applications for 2011. 22 percent more have applied for Ministry of Education's higher education through quota 2 compared to 2010. 20 percent more have applied for a professional education, while 30 percent more have applied for business academy. A growing proportion of these applicants are men. They now account for 37 percent of all applicants. This is an increase of nine percentage points over the past five years. Education Minister Troels Lund Poulsen is happy development. "A high level of education of the labor force is a crucial prerequisite for Denmark's future growth and prosperity. It is therefore very encouraging to see that several are applying for higher education. This applies to education targeted key welfare professions, but also the private sector in areas such as finance and IT. Equally gratifying, I see that we get a better hold of the boys, "says Troels Lund Poulsen. Overall, a total of 15 percent more recently applied to all higher education than last year. With few exceptions, all programs received significantly more applications through quota 2 than in 2010. The deadline to enroll via quota 2 was 15 March. The deadline for quota 1 applications to higher education is July 5.
