Biology

Biology is the science of organic life in us and around us. Biology is based on all organic organisms on earth, and you are going to study these up close - from the smallest cellular level of complex organisms like the human body, for large ecosystems.

Biology is a scientific discipline that uses clear scientific methods and theories. You get a broad and specialized knowledge of biology and how biological methods can be used in a social context. There are many aspects of biology, where the topics are population biology, molecular biology, genetics, evolution, Cell and Tissue Biology, physiology and ecology.

Biology is not a whole education in itself, but consists of three modules each lasting one semester. To obtain a master's degree you must combine General Biology with another program. You can combine biology with virtually all other specialized subjects, except subjects of Molecular Biology, Environmental Biology and Medical Biology.

Popular combinations with biology are: Geography, Physics, Danish, Chemistry and Philosophy.

On the MSc in Biology choose biology courses corresponding to 60 or 90 ECTS. The following candidate lines are available:

- Line in Aquatic Biology: You will learn about the organisms in rivers, lakes and seas, and on their physiology, ecology and interactions with each other and with the aquatic environment.

- Line in microbiology: You examine bacteria and fungi adapt to the surroundings and learn how bacteria and microfungi can be exploited in biotechnology.

- Line in population biology and terrestrial ecology: You work with animal behavior, interactions between animals and ecological processes and their impact on ecosystems.

- Line of cell biology and physiology: You specialize in understanding biology at the cellular level and integrating this understanding with studies of physiological response in animals and humans.

Additionally holds training opportunity to specialize in environmental biology and nature, as well as in evolutionsbiologi.Eller you can compose your own academic profile from the wide range of 48 courses in the program, supplemented by relevant courses from studies abroad.

Biology is the study of life, defined as living organisms in nature. Biology involve various theoretical aspects of scientific disciplines and sharpens your understanding of the processes and scientific problems that occur in nature.

Job Opportunities

A trained biologist can find jobs in research, administration or management, counseling and education and communication. You can also work as a teacher, researcher or careers in consulting engineering firms.

Special admission requirements

Relevant Bachelor of Science degree.

Related student jobs

As a graduate in biology, you have not much time for student job, but if you must have something to do to earn a little and get out in reality as you study, you can take a student job as a porter at the hospital, or take guards in the cafeteria university or become a tutor.
