Adobe distributes international design award for the 12th time

Adobe has found the winners of the 12th annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) at the conference DesignThinkers 2012 in Toronto. Students and teachers from 70 countries competed in a number of categories, such as illustration, game design, photography and printing. The event was held with the renowned designers Sean Adams and Noreen Morioka as hosts.

At this year's Adobe Design Achievement Awards honored Adobe the students and teachers whose winning projects were selected from 41 finalists out of nearly 5,000 projects from 70 countries. Students in graphic design, photography, illustration, animation, digital film, development, and it was invited to participate in the competition either individually or as groups. Event hosts were the two renowned designers Sean Adams and Noreen Morioka, among other things, has worked with the visual identity for a variety of international brands.

The winning students were found in 13 categories, including interactive media, video and traditional media, while the teachers were judged in three categories, focusing on innovative teaching methods. All the winning projects at ADAA was showcased on a special gallery on DesignThinkers 2012 conference.

"In a global, competitive world, students who can express their ideas and solve their problems in creative ways be the most successful," said Jon Perera, vice president of education at Adobe. "To recognize talent among the next generation of designers is part of Adobe's wider commitment to promoting creative thinking in education."

Cooperation with international design organization

It is the fourth time Adobe and Icograda conspire competition. The winning students were selected based on how original and efficiently they managed to communicate and apply a number of Adobe products. The teachers were assessed for teaching innovation and the development of applications for a better learning experience. The winners won among others Adobe software and cash prizes.

"Together we have created a platform for international presence, facilitated a network of industry expertise and developed a mentor program which enhances the potential for digital creativity globally."
