On average, carried out approximately 91 percent of all lessons in elementary school as planned. Students have temporary for eight percent of the hours, while less than one percent may be canceled, held as separate lessons or held as temporary hours without lessons. It shows a new study of the extent of planned, completed and canceled lessons in primary schools by UNI • C Statistics & Analysis. Education Minister Troels Lund Poulsen notes that the average amount of hours that are not implemented as planned, represent less than 10 percent of class time. "I am delighted that so many schools are aware of their responsibilities and performing, but it is unsatisfactory that the results are not improved sufficiently. I note in particular is that you have established autonomous team with resources to cover temporary hours on schools. it has apparently not had the intended effect. There are schools that need to do better, and I have therefore asked the quality and supervision Agency to include information in the continuous quality supervision of elementary school, "says Troels Lund Poulsen. In just over eight percent of the hours students have a substitute teacher who teaches in the teacher's plan or on the instructions of the absent teacher. In a few hours, students work for themselves at school or at home with educational substance that they are trained in. In a little less than one percent of teaching time insert schools a temporary worker who has not received instruction, or they send students home or after school. In two municipalities implemented over 95 percent of all hours as planned, while in one municipality only carried 85 percent of the planned hours. At the schools, the variation større.¨ The greatest single cause, to hours may be held outside teaching, illness and child's first sick day. Next comes the teachers' training and courses that are the cause of 15 percent of the hours without lessons. "It is important that training is not done at the expense of students' education, and it amazes me that it is necessary to cancel lessons because of the training provided by the schools, as opposed to disease, can plan out of. I therefore encourage schools to become better at planning teachers' training, "says Troels Lund Poulsen. The collection from UNI • C Statistics & Analysis has happened for four weeks in November 2010. There is planned a similar gathering in late 2011. UNI • C's study can be found here. Source: UVM.dk
